Abigail Marcott was crowned the 2023 Hell on Wheels Rodeo Queen in Cheyene, Wyoming on February 12th, 2023.
Abigail is 17 years old and attends Laramie County Community College where she is pursuing a degree in early childhood education. Her goals in life are to teach, buy a ranch, and make a difference in her community. Abigail has always loved glitz and glamor, when she was just two years old she successfully stole her grandma’s makeup to wipe it on her face, jeans, and brand-new Johnny Popper boots. Abigail has been riding horses since she was two and barrel racing since she was twelve. She is also a state fair champion barrel racer, a two-time county fair champion barrel racer, and a two-time Cheyenne Saddle Tramps 1D champion. Abigail was the cheer captain of a state championship team for two years and was selected to be all-state for that team two years in a row.
Abigail stems from a family that has been deeply involved in rodeo. Rodeo lifestyle started in her family in 1880 with the Clark family. The Clark family homesteaded in Horse Creek and began to dive into rodeo. Donald Clark and his son Duncan Clark competed in the first-ever Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo. Abigail’s grandfather raced chuckwagons, steer roped, team roped, and was inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days hall of fame. Her family’s history with the Sport of Rodeo is one of the reasons this title is so important to her. She looks forward to being an ambassador for the sport of rodeo but most importantly the Hell on Wheels Rodeo Series.

“As the 2023 Hell on Wheels Rodeo Queen the coming season is beyond exciting to me,” said Abigail. “I
cannot wait to be a role model for young cowgirls all over Laramie County. The opportunity to be a part of the growth in western culture within Cheyenne, and promote the Hell on Wheels Rodeo and western heritage in and out of our community makes me feel so honored. I want to thank DeLancey Enterprises and Visit Cheyenne for this opportunity. It has already been such an amazing experience and I am just getting started.”
Abigail is looking forward to seeing everyone at one, or all, of the Hell on Wheels rodeo series performances. She will be bringing her beautiful horse, Sizzle, to all of the six rodeo performances as well as her autograph sheets. We hope you all come out to see Miss Abigail Marcott, your 2023 Hell on Wheels Rodeo Queen, and help us welcome her into the Hell on Wheels family.
