Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) continues its payment schedule in September 2025.
The first group of beneficiaries will receive their deposits on Wednesday, September 10, with some receiving up to $5,108 based on their work history and contributions to the system.
Who gets paid on September 10?
According to the official calendar of the Social Security Administration (SSA), payments are distributed based on the beneficiary’s date of birth:
– People born between the 1st and 10th of any month receive their payment on the second Wednesday, which in September is the 10th.
– This group includes both SSDI beneficiaries and retirees who do not receive SSI.
Estimated SSDI amounts
The amount each person receives varies according to their income history and years of contribution:
– The average payment in 2025 is approximately $1,580.
– The monthly maximum can be as high as $5,108, especially for those who worked more than 35 years with maximum taxable earnings.
Remaining payment dates in September
In addition to September 10, there are two more dates for SSDI payments:
– Wednesday, September 17: for those born between the 11th and the 20th.
– Wednesday, September 24: for those born between the 21st and 31st.
Beneficiaries who receive SSI or who began receiving benefits before May 1997, receive their payment on September 3.
What to do if you don’t receive your payment?
The Social Security Administration recommends waiting at least three business days after the scheduled date to report a missed payment. You can check the status of your deposit on ssa.gov or call your local office directly.
SSI and SSDI monthly cycle start
The September 10 SSDI payment marks the beginning of the monthly Social Security benefits cycle. If you were born between the 1st and the 10th, check your bank account on that date. Other groups will receive payments on the 17th or 24th. Stay informed and refer to the official schedule to avoid confusion.
