BRIDGEPORT — A woman was arrested early Friday after deputies say she was driving under the influence of drugs and tried to flee a traffic stop in Bridgeport.

According to the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 1:18 a.m. on August 22, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling nearly 20 mph over the speed limit on Main Street in Bridgeport. The driver failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens before coming to a halt.

Deputies identified the driver as Margret A. Cain, who showed signs of impairment and admitted to taking several narcotics that were not prescribed to her. During the search of the vehicle, deputies discovered a controlled substance and additional narcotics.

Cain was booked into the Morrill County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, multiple drug-related charges, and a number of traffic violations, including speeding and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
