According to the Broomfield Police Department, an 18-year-old was arrested after allegedly speeding nearly twice the posted limit on a Denver metro highway.
According to the report, the teen was clocked traveling 124 mph on US 36 near Wadsworth Boulevard in a 65 mph speed zone. A LIDAR system was used to measure the speed of the teenager’s SUV.
On top of the excessive speeding, the officer reports that the teen was seen weaving in and out of traffic, causing other drivers to slam on their brakes.
Following the incident, the teen was arrested for excessive speeding and reckless driving.
All suspects accused of crimes must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
