WYNNE — Taycie Matthews of Wynne finished the month of May on a high note, winning two races last week.
Earlier this month, Matthews won the Champion Barrel Racing title at the Women’s Rodeo Championships at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Last week, Matthews won the barrel racing championship at the Old Fort Days Rodeo in Fort Smith. Her winning time was 16.67 seconds, five tenths of a second faster than her nearest competitor.
Matthews then placed sixth at the Music City Rodeo in Nashville.
Taycie and her horse Poprocks returned to winning ways this weekend, winning the Virginia Barrel Classic in Lexington, Va.
Matthews is the daughter of Wynne residents Kim and Terris Matthews.
