When dependents are included in the calculation, payments can be significantly higher. For example:
A married veteran gets paid $4,044.91.
A veteran with one child gets paid $3,974.15.
A married veteran with one child and two dependent parents gets the maximum: $4,544.22 a month.

Additional support for children
In addition to the general monthly amounts, the VA also provides extra money for children:
$106.14 a month for each child under 18 years old.
