Audio Allegedly Reveals Influencer Deceased While Livestreaming Suffered From Mental Abuse By Ex-Boyfriend

As Mexican authorities continue to investigate the death of social media influencer Valeria Márquez, a newly discovered audio recording has sparked public interest by allegedly revealing details about her former relationship and any emotional abuse she may have received at the hands of her ex-partner.

The audio, which has yet to be verified, allegedly contains statements made by Márquez describing episodes of mental abuse and humiliation. According to the recording, the man allegedly made numerous disparaging remarks about her personal life.

“He told me I was already too worn, that he didn’t like women who had been with too many men,” Márquez is alleged to have said. “That a lady doesn’t go from bed to bed, and I was one of those who did.”

As reported by multiple media outlets, the recording continues with Márquez describing how her ex-boyfriend spoke to her.

“He told me it disgusted him to think about how many people I had slept with; that I wasn’t good enough to introduce to his friends; that there was no way he’d give me his last name because I was already ‘recycled,'” according to the voice.

In another section of the recording, Márquez discusses how she felt during the relationship, describing a dynamic marked by control and jealousy.

“There I was, like an idiot, believing he loved me—putting up with his outbursts, his need to control me, even his jealousy—only for him to treat me like trash in the end,” she recalled.

So far, neither authorities nor Márquez’s family members have confirmed the authenticity of the audio, which has gone viral on social media and sparked outrage over the alleged abuse.

Márquez, 23, was fatally shot on May 13 while livestreaming on TikTok from her beauty salon in Zapopan, Jalisco.

Authorities say a man impersonating a delivery driver entered the salon, confirmed her identity, and then opened fire. Márquez was struck in the chest and head and died on the scene.

While no arrests have been made, investigators believe Ricardo Ruiz Velasco—also known as “El Doble R” or “El Tripa”—is the primary suspect. He is a high-ranking member of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) and an alleged ex-partner of Márquez.

Sources close to the investigation told Milenio that Ruiz Velasco had been romantically involved with Márquez for months. Investigators suspect he was enraged by the expensive gifts Márquez frequently received from her online fans.

Just hours before the shooting, Márquez posted a video showing off a luxury item, which authorities are investigating as a possible motive.
