CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects in a hit-and-run following a chase that ended with the suspects crashing their vehicle and attempting to flee on foot.
According to a sheriff’s office release, deputies located a vehicle involved in a previous hit-and-run and attempted a traffic stop. The car did not stop, and a chase began.
Deputies said the vehicle crashed during the pursuit. The driver, Hannah Wendtland, got out of the car and fled on foot. She managed to evade officers for a while but was eventually apprehended.
The passenger, Roman Andrade, attempted to flee but was apprehended after being shocked with a Taser.
Wendtland has now been charged with DUI, fleeing, and eluding. Andrade is charged with interference. Both are presumed innocent until they plead or are found guilty.
“We thank the Deputies and Officers involved for their work, and we appreciate the community’s cooperation during this incident,” it stated.
