MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Crime Alert Network is asking the public for help in locating a vehicle in a check fraud case.
According to the Wisconsin Crime Alert Network, on September 16, 2025, Abrham Boebel attempted to cash a fraudulent check at Westconsin Credit Union.
Boebel was in possession of a counterfeit check made out to him. Boebel stated that he was picked up at a Salvation Army in La Crosse by three unknown black males and was approached to cash checks made out to him.
The suspect’s vehicle was identified as a white 2025 Toyota RAV4 with Minnesota license plates SJJ-913. The rental information is returned to the suspect in the case, 35-year-old Lawrence Kloc of Daytona Beach, Florida. Boebel confirms that Kloc was one of the individuals based on a photo ID.
Boebel informed Kloc that he had flown into MSP from Florida, where he rented the RAV4. A Flock search revealed that the RAV4 was in West Salem and Onalaska on September 13, and Eau Claire and Altoona on September 14 and 15.
If you have contact with Kloc or the RAV4, please hold for the Menomonie Police Department. If you have similar cases involving Boebel, Kloc, or the RAV4, please contact Lt Chad Mroczenski at [email protected] or (715) 231-8517.
