According to officials, despite the fact that the school bus’s warning lights and stop arm were turned on, a vehicle heading east collided with the back of it.

The bus was said to be carrying 12 students at the time, and none of them were injured in the crash. The driver of the crashing vehicle, a 56-year-old Malone resident, was transported from the scene with minor injuries.

The 56-year-old driver told deputies that direct sunlight may have been a factor in the accident.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured in this crash, please be aware of conditions which can impact driving such as sun angle. This environmental factor can play a significant role in impairing visibility and observation abilities of a operator at certain times of day.
