Colorado will start Kaidon Salter again this week against Wyoming, according to an ESPN source.
Salter started the first two games, but was replaced by Ryan Staub in Friday’s 36-20 loss to Houston. Staub finished 19-of-35 for 204 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, but couldn’t get much going in the second half as Colorado (1-2, 0-1) managed only six points after halftime.
Staub started the season as Colorado’s third-string quarterback, trailing veteran transfer Salter and standout freshman Julian Lewis.
Salter began the season with a 23-6 record as a starter. Lewis was ranked 12th overall in the class of 2025 and enrolled a year early to compete at Colorado.
Following a season-opening loss to Georgia Tech, Colorado used all three quarterbacks in a 31-7 victory over Delaware.
Salter has one touchdown pass and two touchdown runs with the Buffaloes so far. He completes 68.2% of his passes.
According to CBS, Salter is expected to start this week.
