Sheridan College Enrollment Increases From Fall '24 Semester To Fall '25

Enrollment numbers at Sheridan College for the Fall Semester show that things are gradually returning to normal after the COVID pandemic began, for a variety of reasons.

According to new college data, unduplicated headcount numbers at both the Sheridan and Johnson County campuses increased by 8.7% between the start of fall semester 2024 and the start of fall semester 2025 (up 16 students from 1,064 to 1,156).

Headcount numbers represent students who are enrolled in at least one class and are not counted again if enrolled in multiple classes.

Full-term enrollment numbers at both campuses, which count each class a student is enrolled in, are up 3.7% (54 students from 1,458 to 1,512).

All numbers are as of the 15th day of classes for the semester.

According to College President Dr. Walter Tribley, one of the reasons for the increase is increased participation on the rodeo team, as well as the fact that this is the first semester in which the college does not charge out-of-state tuition.

“We also have 50 students in our 4-year degree program in business and leadership. We have great enrollment in our health sciences degrees and many of our degree programs on campus, so all of them important, all of them moving in the right direction. While I know it’s still a challenge for many in our community, we’re up in our enrollment, we’re almost where we were in 2019, but we don’t have the $2.8 million expense for athletics.”

As of the end of the spring 2025 semester, unduplicated headcount numbers were up 3.5% (36 students) from the end of the spring 2024 semester.

Full-term enrollment was up 1.0% (16 students).
