40 Food Trucks Rolling Into West Michigan for a Flavor-Packed Festival This Weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Get ready to feast this weekend! The 9th annual Roll’N Out Food Truck Fest is rolling into Grand Rapids, serving up a delicious mix of flavors and fun for all ages.

The event is set for Sunday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Watson Lot on Grand Valley State University’s downtown campus, located at 127 Front Ave. SW.

Previously held at Calder Plaza, organizers moved the festival to a spacious parking lot to make room for even more food trucks this year.

“Food trucks are such a great way to experience local eats,” said Anthony Saladino, president of the Grand Rapids Food Truck Association. “What’s really special is that at most of these trucks, you’re meeting the owner and getting food made exactly how it’s meant to be.”

This year’s fest features 44 food trucks, 22 spring market vendors, live DJs, face painting, magicians, stilt walkers, flow artists, picnic areas, and a bar serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Some of West Michigan’s favorite mobile kitchens will be there, including:

  • Arcane Pizza
  • 616 Kabob
  • Falafel Truck
  • El Globo
  • Pizza MI
  • Patty Matters
  • Crepes By the Lakes
  • Pressed in Time
  • Pilar’s Empanadas
  • Furniture City Creamery
  • Family Thyme Food Truck
  • Tamales Mary
  • Waffle Stix

Last year’s festival drew a crowd of about 6,000 people, while the first-ever event brought in over 10,000 food lovers downtown.

“It would be incredible to hit those numbers again,” Saladino said. “The main thing we want people to know is this event is family-friendly. Come out, enjoy the sunshine, grab a bite, and maybe even sip a cold drink.”
