HANOVER TOWNSHIP (WOLF) — A local church is serving up summer vibes one crispy bite at a time.
Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish hosted its annual Drive-Thru Potato Pancake Fest, a beloved tradition that keeps growing each year. Volunteers whipped up a homemade batter and fried thousands of golden potato pancakes, handing them out to hundreds of cars right from the church parking lot.
What started as a creative solution during the COVID-19 pandemic has become a seasonal favorite. The event raises money for the church’s Men’s Club, local food distributions, and other parish needs.
“So many people in the community really enjoy it,” said volunteer Mike Maday. “They love how convenient it is to drive through, and they look forward to seeing familiar faces. Everyone chats with us — it’s a great time.”
The festival continues through tomorrow until 5 p.m., and organizers say they’re ready to serve even more hungry visitors.
