Trump Slams ABC News Over Plane Coverage, Hints at Possible Legal Action
Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Saturday to blast ABC News, accusing the network of spreading false information and hinting at potential legal action.
Trump specifically called out ABC Chairman Bob Iger, writing, “Why doesn’t Chairman Bob Iger do something about ABC Fake News—especially since I just won $16 million over fake and defamatory reporting by ‘Liddle’ George Slopadopolus,” a jab at ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.
According to Trump, ABC is once again airing misleading claims, prompting him to issue what he called a “fair warning.” He alleged that despite earlier cautions, the network continues to publish falsehoods.
Trump was particularly upset over recent reporting that suggested the nation of Qatar was gifting him a Boeing 747 airplane. He insisted that the claim is completely false.
“The great country of Qatar—after committing to invest over $1.4 trillion in the U.S.—deserves better than fake, misleading news,” Trump wrote. “Everyone, including ABC’s lawyers, has been told this: Qatar is not giving ME a free Boeing 747.”
Trump clarified that the aircraft in question is actually being donated to the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense—not to him personally. “This generous move is saving the U.S. government and taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars,” he added.
He ended the post by calling ABC “one of the WORST” offenders in what he frequently brands as “Fake News.”
