Soaking Forecast: Minnesota Braces for Days of Rain — See How Much Could Fall

More Rain on the Way for the Twin Cities — Here’s What to Expect

Get ready for another round of soaking rain in the Twin Cities this week.

While a few spotty showers could pop up during the day on Monday, the heaviest rainfall is expected to move in by evening. During the day, expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs just under 60 degrees.

By Tuesday, rain will become steady and winds will pick up, making for a chilly and damp day. Temperatures will drop to around 50 degrees, and the gusty winds could make being outside feel downright unpleasant Monday night into Tuesday.

The rain is expected to move out sometime on Wednesday.

Looking ahead, Thursday and most of the Memorial Day weekend are shaping up to be much drier and warmer. By Sunday, temperatures should rebound to around 70 degrees.

Rainfall Outlook

  • South Central Minnesota could be hit the hardest, with up to 3 inches of rain possible.
  • Southeastern Minnesota is likely to see 1 to 2 inches.
  • The Twin Cities area might pick up up to 2 inches, especially in the southwest metro.
  • Rain totals will taper off the farther north you go — places like Brainerd and beyond might get less than an inch or even stay dry altogether.

Stay tuned and keep the umbrella handy!
