WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — A Michigan State Police trooper was dragged some 60 feet after pulling someone over in metro Grand Rapids Tuesday, police say.
The trooper was not hurt, police say.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. on the off-ramp from southbound US-131 to Turner Avenue in Walker.
The trooper pulled a car over on the ramp. The trooper walked up to talk to the driver, at which point the driver tried to take off, MSP says, dragging the trooper more than 60 feet.

The driver ultimately stopped and was arrested.
A News 8 crew at the scene saw MSP, Walker police and an ambulance that later left the scene. Officers searched a black sedan. The sedan was later towed away and officers began to clear the scene.
Police say the driver was in illegal possession of a gun.
