FORT WORTH, Texas – Wyoming’s Brody Cress swept the saddle bronc riding in Bracket 3 of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. The highlight of round one came when Cress, who grew up in Hillsdale, Wyoming, scored 90.5 points. The horse he originally was slated to ride did not cooperate in the bucking chute. Cress was offered a re-ride opportunity and gladly accepted it.
That decision paid off in a big way. Paired with a horse named Miss Valley, Cress delivered a near-flawless ride that had the crowd on its feet and the judges impressed. The 90.5-point ride stood as one of the highest marks of the bracket and set the tone for the rest of his performances.
Cress, a multiple-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) qualifier and known for his consistency and smooth riding style, didn’t slow down in the following rounds. He added an 87-point ride in round two and capped off his bracket with an 88.5-point score in the final round, earning him the top spot in Bracket 3 and a ticket to the semifinals.
“It feels good to get on some great horses and find my rhythm early in the season,” Cress said after advancing. “Fort Worth is a place that treats cowboys right, and the energy in this arena helps push you to ride your best.”
The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, held inside the iconic Dickies Arena, features a tournament-style format, with top competitors from each bracket moving forward. With his dominant showing, Cress will now prepare to face off against the best in the semifinals, with hopes of claiming the championship title and adding to his already impressive resume.
Cress’s strong performance has not only solidified his place as a favorite going forward in Fort Worth, but it also builds momentum as he heads into the rest of the 2025 season.
The action at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo continues through February 3, with fans packing the arena each night to witness the grit, skill, and heart of professional rodeo’s finest.
