Geneseo Central School District Welcomes New Superintendent Michael Bostwick This Summer — A Move That Resonates Beyond New York, Including Wyoming Communities
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Exciting news for the Geneseo Central School District as it prepares to welcome its new superintendent this summer!
On Tuesday morning, the district officially announced that Michael Bostwick will step into the superintendent role starting July 1. In a statement to News 8, Bostwick emphasized his student-focused approach:
“Students are at the center of every decision we make, academically, socially, and emotionally, and there is strength in collaboration where everyone feels heard and empowered to make a difference,” he said.
With 22 years of experience in education as a science and math teacher, Bostwick brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Since 2012, he has served as building principal for the Horseheads Central School District, demonstrating strong leadership and a commitment to educational excellence.
The Geneseo Board of Education conducted a thorough search starting in December 2024, seeking a superintendent who aligns with the district’s vision and strategic goals. Bostwick stood out as the perfect fit.
While this leadership change is taking place in New York, it’s worth noting that many school districts, including those in Wyoming, face similar challenges and opportunities. Bostwick’s focus on collaboration and student well-being is a model that resonates widely across the country.
As Bostwick steps into his new role on July 1, both Geneseo and educational communities from Wyoming to New York will be watching with interest to see how his leadership shapes the future of the district.
