PERRY, N.Y. — The roar of engines and thrill of short-track racing returns this Saturday, May 24, as the Race of Champions “Family of Series” jumps back into action at Wyoming County International Speedway—better known as “The Bullring.” Located in Perry, just a short drive from the Wyoming state border, the speedway will host the opening rounds of multiple 2025 championship series.
Headlining Saturday’s event is the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series, officially launching its 2025 season on the high-banked 1/3-mile oval. Defending champion Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, N.Y., is eager to begin his title defense.
“We are looking forward to getting the Series season going,” said Timmerman. “The competition is always strong in the Race of Champions Series. Saturday should be an exciting race and a great start to the season.”
Also making their 2025 debut are:
- The Race of Champions Street Stock Series, led by 2024 champion Nik Welshans of West Seneca, N.Y.
- The Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series, which already kicked off on May 10 at Chemung Speedrome, where Gene Purvis of Elmira, N.Y., claimed the win.
