The National Weather Service in Buffalo is warning that high humidity and rising temperatures will set the stage for storms to develop, with the heaviest rainfall likely occurring through late Monday night.
What to Expect on Monday
Temperatures in Buffalo and surrounding areas will reach around 88°F on Monday, but it will feel much warmer due to the increased humidity. Thunderstorms are expected to begin after 2 p.m.
The storms could bring localized downpours, and roads in Erie, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus counties, including stretches of I-90, may experience standing water and reduced visibility. Winds from the west at 6 to 11 mph will accompany the storms, which may bring over a tenth of an inch of rain, with isolated areas receiving much more.
