On July 9, 2025, many Social Security beneficiaries will receive their monthly retirement or disability payments. If you were born between July 1 to 10, your deposit will arrive on Wednesday.
With a 2.5% increase in the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), many people will receive more than the usual average that was previously deposited.
Criteria for Social Security payment for retirees
The Social Security Administration (SSA) scheduled July 9 for retirees and disability beneficiaries (SSDI) who were born between the 1st and 10th of any month. Other groups, such as those who receive both Social Security and SSI or started before May 1997, were already paid on July 3.
Those born between 11 and 20 will be paid on July 16, and those born between 21 and 31 will be paid on July 23.

Full retirement age (67): up to $4,018.
Postpone until age 70: up to $5,108 a month

What to do if you did not receive your Social Security deposit in July?
Check your bank account to confirm deposit details.
If you don’t see the payment on the 9th, wait 3 business days for possible bank delays.
If it still does not appear after four days, first contact your bank and then the SSA at 18007721213.
If you were born between July 1st and July 10th, you will receive your Social Security payment on July 9, 2025, with an average monthly payment of $1,976 and a possible cap of $5,108 if you began late.
Remember that if you receive SSI or started before 1997, you were already paid on July 3.
