A woman who had been reported missing days before was discovered dead in a car accident down an embankment in Oregon, deputies said.
A 2006 Chevy Malibu driven by Mary Ann Snoddy was “in dense vegetation” about 30 feet down the embankment, according to a Facebook post from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office on July 8.
Snoddy, 62, of Junction City, had been reported missing days before, and police “were still actively investigating” when the fatal crash site was discovered on July 7, deputies said.
They believe the wreck on a highway south of Cheshire “likely occurred several days before” being discovered.
Cheshire is approximately a 10-mile drive southwest of Junction City in western Oregon.
