CHESHIRE, OR – A Junction City woman who had been reported missing was found dead after a vehicle crash south of Cheshire, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Around 1 p.m. on July 7, deputies and Junction City Police officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the 91300 block of Territory Highway. Investigators determined that the crash had most likely occurred several days earlier.

The vehicle, a 2006 Chevy Malibu, was about 30 feet down an embankment, concealed by dense vegetation.

The driver, 62-year-old Mary Ann Snoddy of Junction City, was found dead at the scene. She had previously been reported missing to Junction City Police, who were still looking into her case at the time of the crash discovery.

Authorities did not provide any additional information about the cause of the crash, but they confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
