A 47-year-old Cheyenne man is facing several charges after allegedly bullwhipping two women and punching a Laramie County Sheriff’s deputy.

According to a booking sheet, Jeremiah Dean Andrews was arrested at 9:38 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance and discovered that Andrews had allegedly hit two women with a bullwhip.

Deputies attempted to handcuff Andrews, but he reportedly broke free and punched one of them in the face.

Andrews Hit With Felony Charge

Andrews was then charged with interference with a peace officer – bodily injury, a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison, and three misdemeanors, including two counts of domestic battery and one count of unlawful contact.

On Wednesday, July 9, Andrews appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court before Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.

Bond Set at $10K Cash

“Both victims have already been in contact with our office expressing their concerns for their safety as well as the safety of the community,” according to the state’s testimony.

“Mr. Andrews has demonstrated an inability to comply with law enforcement orders (and) has a history of similar assaultive behavior from 2003 to 2016,” the state said, requesting a $10,000 cash bond, which Williams agreed to.

Andrews is scheduled to return to Circuit Court for his preliminary hearing on Friday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Please remember that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
