PENNSYLVANIA — The U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force is urgently seeking help from the public to locate 20-year-old Malachi Allah Darden, wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Scranton, Wyoming County’s neighboring region.
A warrant for Darden’s arrest was issued by the Scranton Police Department on May 17, 2024. He faces homicide charges and related offenses following a shooting on the 1800 block of Jackson Street.
Darden is described as approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Authorities believe Darden may currently be in the Bronx, New York. However, he has strong connections to Northeastern Pennsylvania, including Lackawanna and Luzerne counties, which neighbor the state of Wyoming.
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to Darden’s arrest. Anyone with tips is encouraged to call 1-877-WANTED2 (926-8332) or submit information through the USMS Tips App.
The USMS Fugitive Task Force includes 22 partner agencies such as the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Wilkes-Barre and Kingston Police Departments, sheriff’s offices from Bradford and Carbon counties, and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office — all working closely to bring Darden to justice.
