A Florida man was arrested more than a year after allegedly pointing a gun at a victim and pulling the trigger moments after removing the bullet from the chamber.
Victor Colon, 62, is accused of armed robbery in Miami-Dade County on December 14, 2023. According to jail records, he was booked in on Wednesday.
Local ABC affiliate WPLG obtained a probable cause arrest affidavit stating that the alleged victim and his father reported the incident to authorities three days after it occurred.
The alleged victim stated that he was playing video games at his mother’s house when Colon burst into his room and began cursing him.
According to the affidavit, the victim began recording on his phone and attempted to flee, but Colon stopped him by grabbing his shirt. Colon allegedly pulled out a gun and took the victim’s phone from his hand.
The suspect allegedly pressed the firearm against the victim’s head and stated, “I should kill you.” Colon allegedly unchambered a round from the gun and placed it on the victim’s head before pulling the trigger.
Colon allegedly added, “I should bury you in the back with the rest of them.” He then asked the victim’s mother if he should shoot her son, and she said, “No.” According to the complaint, Colon began slapping the victim’s face.
According to police, the victim fled the house when Colon went to the bathroom.
It’s unclear what caused Colon’s arrest nearly two years later. He was not represented by a lawyer, according to court records.
Colon is reportedly friends with the mother of the alleged victim.
He was still being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Thursday afternoon.
