Another bust of a Cheyenne woman with a history of drug convictions

A 37-year-old Cheyenne woman with a lengthy criminal history is facing a felony charge after allegedly being caught with drugs again.

According to a booking sheet, Chairrity Nicole Meehan was arrested at the Probation and Parole Office on 1934 Wyott Dr. on Friday, July 18, at 12:26 p.m.

Meehan was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the third or subsequent offense, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, a $5,000 fine, or both.

Initial Court Appearance

On Tuesday, July 22, Meehan appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Thomas Lee on the charge.

Lee appointed Meehan a public defender and inquired whether the state had a strong objection to a $1,000 cash bond.

“The state would request a higher cash-only bond given that if convicted this will be not only her third, but Ms. Meehan’s fourth conviction of a similar offense,” according to the report.

“She also has numerous failure to appears from 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023, 2024, as well as a probation violation from 2022 and a contempt of court from 2023,” the attorney general said. “All of that gives that state very serious concerns for her ability to comply with this court’s orders (and) would request a $3,000 cash bond.”

Bond Set at $1,500 Cash

Lee set Meehan’s bond at $1,500 cash, and her preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday, July 30, at 1:30 p.m.

Please remember that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
