An alleged Cheyenne cocaine dealer is being held on $11,000 cash bail after being arrested on two felony warrants and a misdemeanour drug possession charge.
According to a booking sheet, Jay Jacob William Buswell, 31, was arrested on Tuesday, July 1 at 12:43 p.m. at Deming Drive and West 9th Street.
Police say Buswell had a misdemeanour amount of crack cocaine.
Felony warrants
Buswell also had a felony warrant out of Laramie County alleging that he delivered cocaine on or about May 4-10, a crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison, a $25,000 fine, or both, and a felony warrant out of Platte County for cocaine sale/distribution.
Police say both warrants were signed on June 25.
Buswell was taken to the Laramie County Detention Centre, where he was booked for his warrants and later charged with misdemeanour possession of a controlled substance.
Total Bond Set at $11,000 Cash
On Wednesday, July 2, Buswell appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on his warrant and misdemeanour charges.
His total bond was set at $11,000 cash—$10,000 in his felony case and $1,000 in his misdemeanour case—and his preliminary hearing and arraignment were set for Friday, July 11, at 11 a.m.
Remember that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
