The hashtag “Justice for Draven Addison” is trending on social media, along with the obituary for the 14-year-old Riverton boy who was believed to be the victim of a fatal stabbing on Honor Farm Road on Saturday morning.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) and the Riverton Police Department responded to a 911 call shortly before 4 a.m., reporting that a teen had been stabbed during a fight on the 100 block of Honor Farm Road and was bleeding from the back.
Addison was reportedly breathing at the time of the call, and police and EMS treated him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
According to Fremont County Undersheriff Mike Hutchison, a fight broke out among a group of juvenile males on the scene, and the suspect and several others fled before police arrived. Anyone with information should contact FCSO Detective Wes Barry at 307-332-5611.
Draven Addison is remembered for his love of music, animals (particularly cats), swimming, fishing, camping, and hiking. “He found joy in the rain, butterflies, and all of God’s creation,” the obituary reads. “He was a sweet and kindhearted young man who loved life, nature, and his family deeply.” Draven will be remembered as a gentle, loving, and joyful young man who brightened the lives of those he knew.”
A prayer service and wake will be held on Friday, August 29, at 6 p.m., at the family home, 1280 Quiver Lane. Draven’s funeral will be held on Saturday, August 30, at 10 a.m., at the family residence, with burial at Sharpnose Cemetery in Ethete, followed by a feast at the family home.
