A 21-year-old driver leads Sheridan police on a high-speed chase that exceeds 100 mph

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — The Sheridan Police Department recently announced that it was involved in a high-speed chase with a 21-year-old driver who has since been charged with numerous offenses.

According to a social media post from the department, on August 26 at around 9:05 a.m., SPD officers observed a reckless driver traveling on East Brundage Lane at an estimated speed of more than 80 mph.

An officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it failed to yield and continued driving at a high speed.

According to the release, the vehicle began to elude the officer, who coordinated the pursuit with other Sheridan Police Department officers and other agencies.

According to the release, the vehicle drove through residential and business neighborhoods before exiting Interstate 90 at exit 20 and entering the interstate.

“At this time, the vehicle began traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of travel,” according to the notice. “The vehicle traveled at speeds exceeding 100 mph for several miles before shifting to the westbound lane of travel.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol and Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office took over primary pursuit duties as the vehicle exited I90 at Ranchester.”

According to the release, the vehicle continued driving recklessly through the town of Ranchester. Officers turned off their emergency lights but continued to follow from a distance.

According to the release, when the vehicle passed through Dayton, it pulled into the driveway of a home near Tongue River High School. The driver was apprehended in this location.

“The driver, Tynan Mogen, was 21 years old. “Mogen was charged with multiple offenses for the pursuit, including DWUI and Reckless Driving,” the post says.
