CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A guy arrested for assault in Kimball, Nebraska, has also been linked to an attempted burglary at a Cheyenne car wash that occurred months ago.

John Warren Rousseau-Penceka is deemed innocent unless he pleads or is found guilty.

According to court filings, the incident took place at a Cheyenne residence after an officer responded to a report of a physical disturbance.

According to the complaint, the victim said to police that Rousseau-Penceka entered his unlocked flat and began striking him with his fists.

The culprit fled, then returned and forced in the door to continue the assault with a red metal scraper.

The sufferer suffered a cut and a significant bruise, and the apartment door was found to be off its hinges.

Following his arrest for violence, investigators linked Rousseau-Penceka to a second, continuing investigation into an attempted burglary at the Oasis Car Wash on May 28.

Surveillance footage from the car wash captured two individuals attempting to break in, one of whom wore a striking navy-blue digital camouflage jacket.

Police identified the individual in the jacket as Rousseau-Penceka based on his height, physique, and previous police monitoring. They recognized the second suspect, Victor Colacino, based on the distinctive bag he wore in the footage.

Colacino was later arrested in connection with unrelated burglaries and admitted to being at the car wash, but claimed he couldn’t recall the other person’s identity.

He also faces a felony burglary allegation, and he is presumed innocent until he pleads or is proven guilty.

When asked about the event, Rousseau-Penceka denied being the guy in the video and stated that he was in Nebraska at the time.

However, a police officer indicated in the affidavit that after meeting the suspect in person, he believed him to be the individual seen on surveillance film.
