A Pittsburgh woman has been charged in the death of her mother, who was 73 years old.
On June 2, around 8 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Ley Street in Troy Hill for reports of a domestic dispute.
Patricia Kachinko, a 73-year-old woman identified later by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office, told officers she was punched in the chest during an argument with her daughter.
Kachinko was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but she died of her injuries on June 24. The medical examiner’s office determined her death was a homicide.
Krystal Slepski, 43, of Reserve Township, was charged with simple assault following the initial incident. Police said more charges are likely.
Slepski remains in the Allegheny County Jail.
