A Riverton woman has been punished for distributing fentanyl, according to the Department of Justice

(Fremont County, WY) – Charnele Jenkins, 31, of Riverton, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison and two years of supervised release for fentanyl distribution, according to the US Department of Justice.

According to court records, on August 27, 2024, the defendant sold fentanyl pills to an undercover Rocky Mountain Safe Trails Task Force Agent in Riverton.

Assistant United States Attorney Timothy W. Gist prosecuted the case. Jenkins was indicted on January 15 and pleaded guilty on May 27.

On August 15, US District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson imposed the sentence in Cheyenne.
