Another drug trafficker is serving a lengthy sentence in federal prison for bringing lethal amounts of drugs into Idaho with the intent to distribute.
The woman was sentenced to over 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
Woman Sentenced for Bringing Drugs from Oregon to Distribute in Idaho
Nicole Ann Kettler, 41, is from Michigan and has a history of buying large amounts of meth and fentanyl in Oregon and transporting it across the border into Idaho for distribution. Kettler was sentenced to 139 months of federal prison.
In May 2024, Kettler was stopped for a traffic violation. Officers discovered drug paraphernalia in her car, and a police canine detected drugs in the vehicle. Officers discovered thousands of fentanyl pills, powder, and methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Other controlled substances were discovered in the vehicle but were not mentioned in the news release.
Kettler admitted to police that she “frequently traveled to Portland to purchase significant amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl for distribution in Idaho.”
On June 6th, the news release was posted on the Department of Justice’s District of Idaho webpage.
Kettler has previously been convicted of similar crimes, such as possession with intent to distribute or deliver controlled substances. KMVT covered one of those arrests in 2016, when she was stopped and arrested by a police officer in Twin Falls.
