A 35-year-old Gillette man was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute 500 grammes or more of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Tyler Kihlstrom conspired with others in Wyoming and Colorado from March 2024 to May 29, 2024 to obtain methamphetamine in Colorado and distribute it in Wyoming.
Kihlstrom was stopped and arrested near Douglas in May, after agents made several controlled purchases from him. He was found with 549 grammes of methamphetamine and more than $8,000 in US currency.
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation investigated the crime.
Cameron J. Cook, an assistant United States attorney, prosecuted the case. Kihlstrom was indicted on July 18, 2024 and pleaded guilty on December 2, 2024.
On June 26, Chief U.S. District Court Judge Kelly H. Rankin imposed the sentence in Cheyenne.
