Following a several-hour standoff, a search warrant was obtained, and the SWAT Team entered the house and arrested Edge.

He was hospitalised after being exposed to the SWAT Team’s chemical agents. The incident is still under investigation.

Media Release from the Lima Police Department

On 7/04/2025, at around 12:30 am, Lima Police Patrol Officers were sent to a residence in the 900 block of Greenlawn, in reference to a female being shot at by her boyfriend.  Officers arrived and located the victim, 25 year old Breanna Cochran, of Lima.  She advised she and her boyfriend, 46 year old William “Frankie” Edge, also of Lima, were arguing.  They each left 792 S. Greenlawn (Lima) separately, and went to different locations.  A short time later, they encountered each other, along the street,  back in the 700 block of S. Greenlawn, and the argument resumed.  This time, William “Frankie” Edge became enraged, removed a firearm from his shorts and fired at least one shot at Ms. Cochran, missing her.  Ms. Cochran fled a short distance and hid in some bushes, as Mr. Edge walked away in the opposite direction.  When she was sure Mr. Edge was out of the area, she ran to a friend’s residence, in the 900 block of Greenlawn and asked the police to be contacted.

While speaking to Ms. Cochran in the 900 block of S. Greenlawn, officers heard several shots fired in the 700 block of S. Greenlawn.  They responded there and learned the shots were fired by Mr. Edge again.  After speaking to witnesses, officers were able to determine that Mr. Edge ran to and was hiding inside of 792 S. Greenlawn.  The patrol officers surrounded the residence and contacted detectives to respond and investigate.  As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained.  Members of the L.P.D. S.W.A.T. Team, and L.P.D. Crisis Negotiation Team were contacted.  After a several hour stand off, the S.W.A.T. team entered the residence and located and took Mr. Edge into custody, with minor injuries from chemical agents deployed by S.W.A.T.  Mr. Edge was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  A short time later, he was transported to the Allen County Jail and held for two unrelated outstanding warrants, as well as suspicion of felonious assault and suspicion of having weapons while under disability.  This incident is still under investigation.
