A full report on Hannah Moody’s tragic death has been released, following her discovery near an Arizona trail in May.

According to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 31-year-old hiking influencer was discovered “deceased and decomposing” about two days after she disappeared from a trail near Scottsdale. The temperature outside reportedly reached 103 degrees.

The medical examiner’s office previously determined that Moody’s death was caused by “environmental heat exposure.” Her death was ruled accidental.

The full postmortem analysis states that her body was discovered with “decomposition changes” and “abrasions of the right shoulder and lower extremities.”

Her toxicology results were negative for “ethanol, screened drugs of abuse, and select therapeutic medications,” the medical examiner’s report states. She had only “minimally elevated creatinine and urea nitrogen.”

Moody was a Christian influencer with over 45,000 followers on Instagram. She regularly shared content online about her religious beliefs and her affinity for hiking in Arizona.

Concerned friends reported Moody missing on May 21 at around 7:50 p.m. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Air Unit discovered her body 600 yards off-trail, near the Gateway Trailhead of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, shortly after noon the next day.

The Scottsdale Police Department stated in a press release that officers “began search efforts on foot, with drones and assistance from a Phoenix Police Department helicopter.” Her body was found on May 22.

Less than a week later, her mother, Terri Moody, told Arizona’s Family about her tragic death. Terri described her daughter’s death as “a mystery.”

“We’re trying to piece it all together because we don’t know of any conditions she had or anything like that that would have caused anything,” the bereaved parent explained, adding, “We’re all assuming it was heat-related, but you know that’s inconclusive.” There was no evidence of foul play.”
