A fight between two girls inside a local deli resulted in the murder of a teenage girl.
According to her family, she was enticed to the location of her Tuesday afternoon murder.
According to police, 16-year-old Aliyah Williams died after being stabbed several times during a dispute.
In New York City, her 17-year-old alleged killer was taken into custody Tuesday evening.
According to the police, Williams threw water at her assailant while they were arguing inside the deli.
At about 4 p.m., the murderer took out a knife and stabbed her outside the Deli Grocery.
She was fatally stabbed in the face, chest, and body.
After being taken to the hospital in critical condition, the teenager passed away from her wounds.
The nature of the inciting argument is unclear.
According to ABC affiliate WABC, the horrific assault left a trail of blood outside the Bronx deli before staff used bleach to clean up the area.
According to her family, they have no idea who could have harmed the high school student.
The deli, which is a short stroll from her home, is where they say she was lured.
Rose Anderson, her distraught grandmother, claimed to have had a conversation with Williams earlier that day.
Anderson told the New York Daily News, “She texted me today and asked for $10 for food.”
I didn’t hear from her again after that. I pray that her soul is at peace.
“She wasn’t a bad kid, she was a peaceful person, and she gave of her heart,” she continued.
“I’m sorry she had to go this way; may her soul rest in peace.”
