American Rope Horse Futurity adds Stallion Incentive to their program

The American Rope Horse Futurity Association (ARHFA) was started in 2007 by Jay and Lindsay Wadhams.

With their roots planted deeply in the performance horse industry, from showing, to roping, to production, they recognized the need for an association that would help promote the growth of the rope horse industry.

Being the first futurity for roping with a judged and timed concept, the ARHFA futurities are recognized by owners and ropers as the pinnacle event to showcase young rope horses. “Our events have grown and evolved over the past fifteen years, and we feel it’s time to offer a stallion incentive program for you, as a stallion owner, to showcase foals by your stallion,” says Jay Wadhams. Jay and Lindsay Wadhams, along with Ryan and Candi Sellers, have partnered to start the “Top Gun” ARHFA Stallion Incentive Fund
program.

Beginning in 2023, stallion owners will have the opportunity to join a select group of fellow rope horse
stallion owners to encourage others to breed to your stallion. The 2023 Top Gun nomination fee will be
$4.000 and will be due by March 31, 2023. This will make all four-, five-, and six-year-old horses by your
stallion eligible for the Top Gun side pot. $3500 of the nomination fee will go directly to the resulting side
pot.

There will not be any extra fees to nominate offspring. All horses sired by the 2023 nominated stallions will be eligible for the side pots offered in 2023. Nominated stallion owners will be eligible for 25% of the
resulting side pot, and the owners of the nominated stallion’s offspring competing will be eligible for 75%
of the resulting side pot.

In 2023, the Top Gun side pot will be offered starting at the Redbud Spectacular ARHFA Futurity in
Oklahoma City, OK June 3-4, and the World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth, TX October 2023
Starting in 2024 the Top Gun nomination fee will be due by January 1st of each year, and we forecast
offering the stallion incentive fund side pot at several of the seasonal events, and always at the World
Championship event.
