Authorities say the father who is suspected of killing three girls may have changed his look after slipping off the grid

The Washington man accused of murdering his three young daughters may have changed his appearance since he was last seen.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office stated on Tuesday that 32-year-old Travis Decker’s appearance may have changed since he was last seen before allegedly killing his daughters, 9-year-old Paityn, 8-year-old Evelyn, and 5-year-old Olivia.

While the search for Decker continues, several agencies have joined the effort, including the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office.

As part of their update, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office included a digital rendering of Decker’s possible appearance after going off the grid.

He was last seen on May 30, when he picked up his daughters for a scheduled visit and never returned them to their mother. The three girls were discovered dead on June 2 near a campground not far from Decker’s vehicle.

The medical examiner determined that all three girls died from suffocation, and the manner of death was homicide.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office also clarified that a TikTok video claiming Decker had been apprehended following a standoff with police was not authentic.

“To be clear, Mr. Decker is not in custody, and the CCSO had no involvement in creating the video,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Several agencies, including the Washington Army National Guard, the US Marshals Service, and the US Border Patrol, have joined the manhunt for Decker.

Authorities have stated that Decker, an ex-military and survivalist used to living off the grid, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Following an investigation into Decker’s browsing history, authorities believe he may be on his way to Canada. He is also believed to be on a hiking trail that leads straight to the Canadian border.

Decker is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of kidnapping in connection with his daughters’ deaths.

Police have warned the public that if they see Decker, they should call 911 right away and “do not attempt to contact or approach him.” Anyone with information should contact the nearest US Marshals office, the US Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102, or USMS Tips.
