PRCA “Back When They Bucked” is back for the third consecutive year, May 28, 2023. We are looking forward to hosting this elite event again in the unique, rustic, old-west setting of the Days of ’76 Event Complex in Deadwood, SD.
The WLF and Naja Shrine of Deadwood are excited to partner for this annual Back When They Bucked Fundraiser. We feel our collaboration as two “non-profit” entities that strive to raise and donate funds back to the youth of western South Dakota will better enable our fundraising efforts as well as continue to grow community involvement in this event for many years to come.
The full day of action on May 28th will kick off with the Woman’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) Ladies Breakaway event. You will witness some of the fastest roping you have ever seen. The ladies will be competing for a spot in the short round that will be held during the PRCA Xtreme Saddle Bronc Riding event which will be held in the afternoon.
The PRCA Xtreme Saddle Bronc match will begin in the afternoon. This is a Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) sanctioned event featuring “extreme saddle bronc riding”. Thirty Cowboys will compete in the long go-round with the eight highest scores advancing to the short-round. Short-round cowboys will be vying for the title and prize money. Winnings at this event will count toward their earning to advance to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
This full day of action will feature live music with vendors and activities to enjoy!
