CASPER, Wyo. –– The fifth annual coloring contest for ambulances at Banner Wyoming Medical Center has begun.
All elementary school students in Natrona County are encouraged to submit an animal to be featured on new ambulances that will make their debut later this fall, the WMC said in a release.
From now through Sept. 28, students can download the entry form and ambulance drawing and submit their idea for their favorite animal.
Over the years, the WMC’s ambulances have been adorned with a variety of animals, which has made them a distinctive and identifiable sight in the neighborhood.
The hospital is hosting its fifth contest. A black-footed ferret, a fox, wild horses, and rainbow trout have been seen on ambulance rigs belonging to previous winners. A bear, an elk, a bison, a mountain lion, and a bighorn sheep are also part of the fleet.
A licensed photo of the animal featured on the winning applications will be used to wrap the new ambulances. The winner will receive recognition at a special unveiling ceremony, and the new ambulance’s design will feature their essay and illustration.
To enter, young artists can download the entry form here or send an email to [email protected] to request a copy.
Animals that are native to Wyoming but distinct from the ones currently seen on the ambulances must be included in all entries. Here is a comprehensive list of the rules.
The deadline for entries is September 28, 2025. Ten finalists will be chosen by a committee and put to a public vote on the WMC’s Facebook page.
