Cheyenne, Wyo. – Cheyenne’s Municipal Building, which was built in 1979, may look different in the future as ideas for remodeling the interior emerge, and renovations are definitely required, according to Cheyenne City Council Ward II’s Dr. Mark Rinne.
According to Dr. Mark Rinne of City Council Ward II, “(The Municipal Building) was designed nearly 50 years ago and it does not work for today’s office or technology.” There are simply too many issues with the building. It does not align with how business, security, and other activities are conducted in the 2020s.”
Councilman Rinne expressed some of the many “concerns” that he and others who work in the Municipal Building have, describing “city hall” as a “hodgepodge, with out of date architecture and structure.”
From the current “lack of security, having virtually no windows, not being ADA compliant, and a plethora of HVAC issues,” Rinne and the city are carefully considering what this project will bring and change, as a preliminary plan has already been developed.
“We should have sometime in the next few months, I would hope, fairly concrete plans and cost estimates, says Councilman Rinne.”
