Cheyenne man accused of punching a male and spitting in the cop's face

A 34-year-old Cheyenne man faces a felony charge for allegedly spitting on a police officer’s face.

According to a booking sheet, on Friday, June 6, at 9:33 p.m., police spoke with a male who reported that a transient, later identified as Sergio Anthony Perez, approached him and punched him in the face.

Police say the victim’s prescription glasses were broken when he was punched.

Perez reportedly resisted arrest, fighting with officers and spitting in their faces.

Perez was reportedly placed in the WRAP and transported to the Laramie County Detention Center.

Perez Booked on 3 Misdemeanors, 1 Felony

He was arrested on three misdemeanor charges: assault – battery, property destruction, and interference with a peace officer – no injury.

He was also arrested for aggravated assault on a peace officer, which is a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.

Perez will appear in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, June 10 at 9:45 a.m., before Judge Antoinette Williams.
