Chillicothe Police Arrest Man After He Drives Stolen Vehicle; Drugs Found

CHILLICOTHE — A ChilicoThe man was arrested on Saturday, August 30, 2025, after police discovered a stolen vehicle in a retail parking lot containing suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

According to a Chillicothe Police Department report, an officer on patrol received information about a stolen 2013 Chrysler 200 traveling northbound on Bridge Street. After searching nearby business lots, the officer discovered the vehicle parked behind TJ Maxx.

As officers approached, a man later identified as Raeshan Lynch exited the driver’s side of the car and began walking through the parking lot. He was detained on the scene and read his Miranda rights.

Lynch allegedly told police that he was approached earlier on Water Street by someone only identified as “J,” who offered him the chance to drive the vehicle in exchange for gas.

A search of the Chrysler revealed a backpack containing Lynch’s ID, as well as several pieces of drug paraphernalia, a white powdery substance he claimed was baking soda, and several rock-like substances suspected to be narcotics. Officers also seized four cellphones for evidence.

The vehicle, which was reported stolen to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, was impounded and returned to its registered owner.

Lynch was taken to the Ross County Jail and charged with receiving stolen property (F4) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspected narcotics have been sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing, and additional charges may be filed pending lab results.

The case is still under investigation.
