On September 15, 16 & 17, CSSHA held its “Top Gun, Take Flight” 4th & 5th CSSHA Club Shows in Riverton, WY as part of the 20th Anniversary Versatility Ranch Horse Show Series. Final show results
are on the CSSHA website. On Saturday evening, CSSHA hosted a fun 20th Anniversary dinner and gave out the year-end and annual awards after the final two shows in the series.

Congratulations to the winners of the CSSHA Year-End High Point Awards for 20th Anniversary Ranch Horse Versatility Series for our Club Classes. These folks and their horses showed in at least 3 of the 5 shows and entered multiple classes to earn their points. They all were awarded some very nice custom prizes at the annual banquet.

Besides all the awards, a great dinner, a photo slide show down memory lane, and camaraderie, we also thanked Jori Skaggs for serving as President this past year.

CSSHA also held its annual meeting Sept. 16, which included election of officers and board members for 2024. We want to thank Rives White for serving as VP, and Stephanie White and Clayton Malson for serving on the board in 2023. Congratulations to our new 2024 VP Laurie Gardner and new board member Jim Horn. Below are your elected board members and officers for the rest of 2023 and 2024:

CSSHA Club Fall/Winter Practices and Jackpots:
Thanks to Rod and Pam Rivers who are working on the fall/winter schedule for the club’s Central Wyoming College weekend practices and jackpots in Riverton, WY. Mark your calendars for the dates for
CSSHA’s CWC weekend events in their new equine facility! Important: You will need a Coggins test to bring any horse into the CWC equine facility. Please get your Coggins test early if you don’t have one.

CSSHA 2023-2024 Winter Use of Central Wyoming College’s Rustler Ag & Equine Complex Arena

All weekends will begin with open riding at Rustler Ag & Equine Complex Arena, 1110 Day Drive, Riverton, Wyoming from 9 AM to 10 AM. Instruction and practice will be 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays. Practice will begin at 10 AM on Sundays. The Jackpot, which begins at 1 PM, is optional for participants, but what a great way to test what you have learned. A buckle will be awarded for each month’s jackpot high score in both youth and adult divisions. To enter the jackpot, you must attend the clinic either Saturday or Sunday or both days that weekend. CWC students can participate in the clinics/practices for free. The jackpot the entry fee of $20 will be assessed.

November 4 & 5, 2023 $40.00/day or $55.00 for two days
Saturday: Stockmanship 101/Reading Cattle and Practice
Sunday: Morning Practice/Afternoon Waddy Drive Jackpot $20.00

December 2 & 3, 2023 $40.00/day or $55.00 for two days

Saturday: Cutting/Herd Work Education and Practice
Sunday: Morning Practice/Afternoon Cutting Jackpot $20.00
What a great way to work off all that turkey you ate for Thanksgiving!

January 6 & 7, 2024 $40.00/day or $55.00 for two days
Saturday: Team Sorting Education and Practice
Sunday: Morning Practice/Afternoon Team Sorting Jackpot $20.00
New Year Birthday Party for Humans and Horses

February 3 & 4, 2024 $40.00/day or $55.00 for two days
Saturday: Ranch Roping Clinic and Practice
Sunday: Morning Practice/Afternoon Ranch Roping Jackpot $20.00

CSSHA Club Info:
Club Meetings are usually held on the first Thursday evening of each month in Riverton WY, and a Zoom link is provided to call in for members outside of the area. Sometimes the meeting date and location changes, so check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date info. Thursday, November 2 is planned to be our next club meetings, starting at 6:30 pm in Riverton. Watch our FB page for the location.

Membership: Individual CSSHA club memberships are still $20/year for 2023. A family membership is only $25/year. You can add a subscription to The Wrangler Magazine with your membership. Pay at an upcoming CSSHA event, meeting, or mail a check to CSSHA at PO Box 1981, Riverton, WY 82501.
