Cowboy State Stock Horse Association News:

The Cowboy State Stock Horse Association celebrates 20 years as an active club in 2023. Our association is known for hosting many cow horse and stock horse events in Wyoming year-round. Specially made ballcaps for our CSSHA 20th Anniversary are for sale for $35. We want to thank our 2023 club sponsors: Quickspace and Rocky Mountain Agronomy.

UPCOMING CSSHA EVENT!

UPDATED information for September 15, 16 & 17:  CSSHA Club’s “Top Gun, Take Flight” 4th & 5th CSSHA Club Shows are part of the 20th Anniversary Versatility Ranch Horse Show Series. There will be Club Class payouts for the series shows, plus you can qualify for year-end series awards. Also included is a Team Sorting.

LOCATION: Fremont County Fairgrounds, Riverton, WY.

NEW schedule: Sept. 15: Friday evening 6:00 PM Herd Work and Ranch Riding.
Sept. 16: Saturday 9:00 AM Reining, Cow/Fence Work, and Trail.
Saturday evening 7:00 PM 20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner and Series Awards, plus election of officers and board members for 2024.
Sept. 17: Sunday Morning 9:00 AM Total Team Sorting.

Heart Mountain Rendezvous: CSSHA held the Heart Mountain Rendezvous AQHA/MQHA-Approved Ranch Horse Versatility Show on July 22 & 23 at the Cottonwood Arena, Joliet, MT. We had 53 horses entered with almost $10,000 for payouts and prizes. Full show results are on the CSSHA website at https://csshaclub.com/results

High Fence Run – Cooper Justus on Rose Pistola – Cooper won a $500 gift certificate to K Bar J Leather for a pair of custom chaps.

Cindy Coe received a gift certificate for a custom shirt from Wyld Sisters for the high score in Amateur VRH Ranch Riding classes. 

Mary Gandy received a gift certificate for a custom shirt from Wyld Sisters for the high score in Amateur VRH Trail classes.

CSSHA Club Info:

Club Meetings are usually held on the first Thursday evening of each month in Riverton WY, and a Zoom link is provided to call in for members outside of the area. Sometimes the meeting date and location changes, so check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date info. Thursday August 10 and September 7 are planned to be our next club meetings, starting at 6:30 pm in Riverton at Scott Ratliff’s home.

We are looking for more photos for our updated website of our members showing, practicing, and riding at our events. Please send your good photos to Jori at joriskaggs@gmail.com.

Membership: Individual CSSHA club memberships are still $20/year for 2023. A family membership is only $25/year. You can add a subscription to The Wrangler Magazine with your membership. Pay at an upcoming CSSHA event, meeting, or mail a check to CSSHA at PO Box 1981, Riverton, WY 82501.
