Millions of Americans are concerned about their financial security in retirement, and many of them rely on Social Security.
Although it is a vital source of income, the payment schedule may raise some concerns. However, there is good news for a large number of retirees, as their Social Security payment for July is just around the corner, bringing the anticipated relief.
It’s important to note that the Social Security Administration (SSA) does not make all payments on the same day. Its monthly disbursement system is structured based on each beneficiary’s date of birth and the date they began receiving benefits.
This means that, while some groups have already received their July deposits, others are still awaiting their scheduled payment date.
Who can receive SSDI payments?
SSDI provides financial assistance to individuals who meet Social Security’s definition of “disability.” These are citizens who are unable to work due to a medical disability, and in order to receive payments, they must have earned work credits and paid Social Security taxes.
What is the SSDI payment schedule for July 2025?
The Social Security Administration sends out monthly income based on the date of birth and when the person first began receiving benefits, so the schedule is as follows:
Group 1: Before May 1997. Paid on July 3.
Group 2: Birthdays between the 1st and 10th. Paid on July 9.
Group 3: Birthdays between the 11th and 20th. Paid on July 16.
Group 4: Birthdays between the 21st and 31st. Paid on July 23.
What happens if you have not received your SSDI payment?
If you have not received your SSDI payment or it has been delayed, the Social Security Administration’s official website makes these recommendations:
Make sure your date of birth and application date put you in the correct group.
Double-check your Direct Transfer details or card balance.
Wait at least three business days before reporting a missing deposit.
