During one of at least two extensive immigration raids in Southern California on Thursday, federal agents clashed with protesters at a farm.

The incident happened outside a farm on Laguna Road in Ventura County’s Camarillo neighborhood.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson told ABC News Thursday that the farm was a marijuana facility.

“A warrant is being executed at a marijuana facility by DHS law enforcement. “Our courageous officers will persist in upholding the law,” the spokesperson declared.

At least one person was arrested during multiple altercations between protesters and federal agents that were covered by ABC News’ Los Angeles station.

Federal agents were seen pinning someone to the ground in footage from the altercations.

During the clashes, federal agents wearing masks appeared to use crowd control measures such as irritants.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office issued a statement calling immigration enforcement “inhumane.”

“There’s a real cost to these inhumane immigration actions on hardworking families and communities, including farmworker communities, across America.”

According to a statement from Newsom’s office, the Trump administration’s tactics “evoke chaos, fear, and terror within our communities at every turn.”

Another large-scale immigration operation was spotted in Carpinteria, California, north of Ventura County.

The coastal town’s city council scheduled a meeting for Thursday to discuss an increase in immigration enforcement in the area, which saw two raids earlier this week, according to the city.

Increased immigration enforcement comes as President Donald Trump directs ICE officers to do “all in their power” to oversee the largest mass deportation program in history.

On Monday, heavily armed federal border agents and U.S. troops descended on Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park as part of an immigration raid that appeared to be mostly empty.

According to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, the operation, which included 90 armed troops and 17 military Humvees, displaced a summer day camp, with the only goal appearing to be “a political agenda of provoking fear and terror.”

“To me, this is another example of the administration ratcheting up chaos by deploying what looked like a military operation in an American city,” Bass told the audience.

Earlier this summer, Trump deployed approximately 4,700 troops to California under Title 10, a law that authorizes the use of military forces to protect federal personnel and property.

The president’s action came as anti-immigrant enforcement protests swept the city, resulting in both peaceful marches and violent clashes with law enforcement.
